All tests must be taken before a student
leaves school for the day. If a student
comes to school late and has missed a
test, the student is required to take
the test before leaving school for the
day.
Mississippi
Science and Mathematics Tournament was held at
Mississippi College on 2/4/2010. Fifty-one
schools participated. Students that place in
the top percentages are eligible for
scholarships from MC:
$200/yr for top 20%, $500/yr for top 10%,
$1000/yr for top 3% (third)
$1500/yr for top 2% (second),
$2000/yr for top 1% (first)

competition is individual testing in Math and

The afternoon
competition was a quiz bowl format. In the first
round, the top two teams advanced to the finals.
St. Joseph and Pillow advanced. Finals: Pillow
Academy placed second. Team: Carty Tillman,
captain; Anish Sharma, Drew Miller and Kyle
Buford.

Blood Drive:
Seniors at
Pillow Academy sponsored our Annual blood drive on Tuesday, Jan. 26th &
Wednesday, Jan. 27th. Working with Mississippi Blood Services, almost 80
units of blood were donated for this very worthy cause. The
seniors would like to thank all students, patrons, and faculty for
helping make this such a successful project.

5, 2010 Valley is
upgrading the Mealpay Plus - Online Prepayment System with an integrated
biometrics scanner at the point of sale. This new system allows for the
students to access payment with a touch of the scanner. The
benefits include:
Eliminates manual entry of student pin number
Provides an audit trail of meals purchased
Increases speed of lunch service
Adds to the efficiency of staff
Next week, Valley Foods will begin enrolling our students in grades
K4-12. Each child will put his or her finger on a reader that takes a
series of vector analysis measurements that are stored. This is not
taking a fingerprint or storing a fingerprint, but the measurements are
stored as a data file. Now students will no longer have to remember a
number.

Baseball stadium seats are now on sale for the 2010 season. For $75 per
seat, you can enjoy chairback comfort during all of the Mustang's home
baseball games. Please contact Coach Jones for seating choices now
available or for any other information.

Jones as soon as possible.
