Art 1-6th period Assignments

Students will learn about Georges Seurat and pointillism.
Students will use sketchbooks, pencils, markers and/or colored pencils to create a design plan for a pointillism painting.
Students will begin painting pointillism painting using q-tips, paint and paper.

We will use acrylic paint, paintbrushes and paper board to begin small paintings in the impressionistic style.

Students will participate in a discussion on the life of Vincent Van Gogh. Students will use 9x12 paper and oil pastels to create a pastel painting in the post impressionistic style used by Van Gogh.

We will use sketchbooks. pencils and markers to create a zentangle.

Discuss the art terms needed to communicate in the classroom.

Use sketchbooks, pencils and rulers to complete the combination drawing. Begin discussing vocabulary.

Using pencils, sketchbooks and rulers, we will combine the skills learned in perspective and shading to create a drawing.
