We will spend today reviewing measuring with a ruler, and converting measurements. The measurements will be by 1/4", 1/2", and 3/4". We will practice drawing lines such as 3-1/2", 1-1/4", 2-3/4" and so forth. Continue practicing using rulers at home. We will go over the homework from last night and review measurement conversions as well.

Quiz tomorrow includes all definitions and labeling that we put in our journals, Writing expressions from word problems, solving addition and subtraction problems, solving equations, and solving for the unknown variable. Study problems like on Chapter 2, Lessons 2-1 to 2-4. The definitions from our journals are: Commutative Property, Associative Property, Identity Property, expression, equation and variable. You WILL have to label the parts of an addition and subtraction problem on the test.

Today's Lesson is 2-4; Expressions and Variables. I will begin the video going back over the properties we put in our journals yesterday.

We are covering 3 lessons in class today because they are very easy review from grades before.
I will be out of class today with a substitute, so there will be no video today. You should have no trouble with the concepts for today, but I will fully go over everything at the beginning of tomorrow's lesson on video for you.
1. Turn to page 68 in textbooks and copy the definitions for Commutative Property of Addition, Identity Property of Addition, and Associative Property of Addition in your journals.
2. Work problems 1-17 on page 69 in your journals remembering that on numbers 16-17 you MUST solve the problems in your grouping symbols first. (The parentheses)
3. Turn to pages 70 - 71. Work problems 1- 28 on those two pages in your journals.
4. Lastly, turn to page 73 in your textbook and work problems 1-16 in your journals.
5. Tomorrow we will fully discuss the definitions you put in your journals today.
