Lesson plans for Feb 15- Feb 19

Hey guys!! How about this snow!!!??? Hope ya'll are having a blast!! But, we will be testing as soon as we get back. So, to keep your notes fresh in your mind, I want you to USE YOUR NOTES and come up with 15 Fill in the blank statements (like I would put on my test). You cannot use people or numbers in your blanks. Use vocab, places, or main topics and events to put in the blanks. Make sure you put details into your statements from your notes. 5 of your 15 statements MUST have 2 blanks in your statement.....which means your are connecting your information and proves it makes sense to you. Be ready to turn this in the day you come back. Study those notes to keep them fresh in your mind.
Obviously, none of you would miraculously word your statements the exact same way......so, this should be an INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT!!! Copying will be EASY to find!!
Depending on when we go back, I might do a live Google Zoom game review.....but, we will see. Playing it by ear for the moment!!

Homework for Chapter 6 review in Google Classroom

Homework for Chapter 6 review

Create a matching quiz using the list of ppl given in class. Virtual learners may choose any 20 ppl to create your quiz. Info used to create your quiz needs to come specifically from notes. The same instructions apply from doing this same type of assignment in the past. You do NOT have to create an answer key for this quiz.
You may also do a separate quiz with an extra 10 topics, events, places, vocab words from this chapter as well for possible bonus points.
Remember, the point of these assignments are to get you "digging" through your notes and for you to prove that you understand the information. Writing the least amount of information about a person or topic will NOT convince me you fully know everything about a person or topic.

Chapter 3 sections 1-2 Key terms and ppl in Google Classroom

Chapter 3 sections 1-2 Key terms and ppl

The following are assigned for each section:
Section 1- charter, John Smith, representative government
Section 2- John Winthrop, toleration, Roger Williams, Anne Hutchinson, town meeting
This was done in class, but if you were absent you need to submit through Google School. Remember ALL vocab definitions need to be ONLY from the back of the book. Your definitions for each person needs to come from the FULL text of the section. Do NOT just tell me the one sentence that you find their name in. That will not tell me everything that is important about that individual. This is a check on your reading comprehension.

Homework for review for Chapter 2 test in Google Classroom

Homework for review for Chapter 2 test

You need to choose 15 people (Do NOT use Christopher Columbus!!!!!!) that we covered in notes and create a MATCHING QUIZ for one of your classmates to take tomorrow. You MAY use groups of ppl and individuals. There should be a mixture of both. Choose your 15 and randomly assign them letters A-N. Then randomly create DETAILED descriptions of those individuals or groups from the material that was given in notes. Do NOT be overly brief. The idea of this is to show me you know the most important things about each one you have chosen. BAD EXAMPLE for Christopher Columbus- he sailed west for Spain; or he found islands in the West Indes- yes, Chris did those.... but what was the most significant thing about his life that made his mark on history. A GOOD EXAMPLE would be- individual who connected the eastern and western hemispheres by bringing crops, animals, people, and also germs which forever transformed each area in some positive and some negative ways. DO YOUR OWN WORK!! THIS SHOULD BE IN YOUR OWN WORDS AND DIFFERENT FROM ANYONE ELSE'S.
Bring this with you to class tomorrow. Someone will take your quiz, so write neatly and make sure you explain your people well. Leave a blank for them to answer. You will also need your own personal answer key that is separate from your quiz.
