Nights of the Pufflings Skill: Fact or Opinion

1. Introduce story and skill by reading Puffins, Clowns of the Sea
in the teacher book on page 15A-15B.

2. Introduce new vocabulary.

Vocabulary Words:

1. ashore-on or to the shore
2. burrows-holes or tunnels small animals use as an underground nest
3. instinctivey-acting on an inner feeling that is not learned
4. stranded-in a difficult or helpless position
5. launching-sending forcefully upwards like a rocket
6. uninhabited-having no people living there
7. venture-to do something in spite of risk



3. Pass out Vocabulary Lists and study guide 
4. Read story 
5. Start making vocabulary notecards to study (if time allows)
6. Assign Homework: read and finish notecards
