Pillow Academy is pleased to announce two National Merit Semifinalist: Dia Chawla and Christopher Winter.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation provides academically talented high school seniors an opportunity to earn different levels of recognition and scholarships. Besides, the PSAT test scores, each entrant is required to provide information about his/her academic record, participation in school and community activities, demonstrated leadership abilities, employment, and honors and awards received. A Semifinalist must maintain an outstanding academic record throughout high school, be endorsed and recommended by a high school official, write an essay, and earn SAT® or ACT® scores that confirm the student's earlier performance on the PSAT qualifying test.

Dia Chawla has a cumulative academic average of 101.60. Dia is president of PA’s Student Council, president of the MAIS State Honor Society, captain of Pillow’s dance team, president of the PA Chapter of the National Honor Society along with many other clubs and organizations. She has earned a score of 35 on her ACT. Dia is interested in attending either Vanderbilt or Ole Miss and following a pre-med track.

Christopher Winter has an overall GPA of 4.846.  He is president of Pillow’s chapter of Mu Alpha Theta Honorary Mathematics Society, vice-president of the Senior Class, and selected as a member of the 2021 Homecoming Court. Throughout high school, Christopher has excelled in honors and AP classes. Christopher’s ACT score is 33. He is still evaluating his choice of universities and majors.
