The Heisman High School program honors community-minded high school athletes - male and female - who change the game - both on and off of the field.
The Heisman Memorial Trophy is renowned for symbolizing the pursuit of excellence with integrity. The Heisman High School Scholarship, presented by Acceptance Insurance, extends the Heisman prestige to our nation’s most esteemed male and female high school seniors by recognizing and rewarding outstanding scholar-athletes who understand that the most important victories not only happen on the field, but in their schools and communities. These remarkable young leaders set the example and make a game-changing difference every day, paving the way to greatness for everyone around them.
Pillow Academy is well represented by two outstanding seniors: Brooke Kimmel and Sumner Tackett. Brooke has an overall GPA of 4.65. With this strong GPA, she is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Society, and the English Honor Society Brooke has consistently been on the Headmaster’s List. She is also a key member of the Model Security Council. This year Brooke joined the Media Arts class and is a member of the Quill & Scroll Honor Society. She is a member of the Volleyball Team, the Track Team, and Tennis.
Sumner, who also has an outstanding GPA of 4.7, is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Society, and the English Honor Society. Sumner has repeatedly been on the Headmaster’s List. He is also a member of PA’s Quiz Bowl team and the Quill & Scroll Honor Society. He is on the staff of the Pony Express, the Pillow newspaper, and is a leader of the Model Security Council. Sumner plays football, soccer, tennis, and golf.
