Due:

Friday, April 17

Go over the test from yesterday. I want you guys to lead the discussion and help answer each other's questions. Use the white boards and smart boards, do whatever. I'll jump in if there's something that has thrown you all off both times, but I want you all to focus on what you DO know, not what you don't, and help each other galvanize that. Remember, you can miss like half of the multiple choice and still come out of it with a 4.
Created by John Banusiewicz: Sunday, April 12 6:01 PM

Due:

Thursday, April 16 in Google Classroom

Thursday, April 16

This will be like Monday and Tuesday. At 12:50 you will get a multiple choice test, and I will take it up at the end. The difference is this one is only 40 questions and will only take the one day. This will allow us to talk it over again tomorrow.
Created by John Banusiewicz: Sunday, April 12 6:01 PM

Due:

Wednesday, April 15 in Google Classroom

Wednesday, April 15

You'll get your tests back and have a general discussion about it. As a group we'll talk about strengths and how we can best lean into them, and weaknesses and how to best mitigate them. In other words, you're all in this together.
Created by John Banusiewicz: Sunday, April 12 6:01 PM

Due:

Tuesday, April 14 in Google Classroom

Tuesday, April 14

Finish the Multiple Choice test. We'll start it at 12:50 and I will take it up at 1:30 to finish up the 80 minutes.
Created by John Banusiewicz: Sunday, April 12 3:01 PM

Due:

Monday, April 13 in Google Classroom

Monday, April 13

Time's about up. We covered momentum and angular momentum last year. I know that was a year ago and not at this level, but at this point we are better served taking a good look at the exam itself for these last couple of weeks rather than trying to cram in a couple of units in a week.

Today and tomorrow you will come in cold and take the multiple choice part of a recent years' actual AP Physics exam. You will not be graded on correctness, just effort and willingness to take it seriously.

The multiple choice portion is 40 questions and you will have 80 minutes. I'll go over a few things in the first 5 minutes, but at 12:50 they will be passed out and you will have the rest of the class to work on what you can however you want to go about it. Then I'll take it up and we will do the same thing tomorrow.

Lab on position vs. time graphs.

This lab is a little different as it requires us to head to the football field, not the lab. Come to the classroom first, though, for attendance.

We will do data collection in class. The rest of the lab can and will be completed on your own outside of class.

Thursday, August 21

Begin notes on position vs. time graphs. The plan is to get through enough of it to be able to complete a lab writeup over the weekend. But if we don't get that far, you are still responsible for the lab. Begging you all to lock in for your own sake.

HW 1 due today at the start of class.

Take Quiz 1.

The difference between a "quiz" and a "test" in this class is really the amount of material covered. Quizzes focus on specifics, whereas tests focus more on the big picture and worth more points. But both quizzes are intended to take the full class period.

Tuesday, August 19

We have a day to play with here assuming we have stayed on schedule. If so, then you can use today to work on your homework and to clear up any issues you may have with specific problems. If we are behind, then we will at the very least cover up until the graphs in the packet.

Remember, your homework is essentially your review sheet for the quiz Wednesday. If you lock in on Monday, you will have time in class to ask specific questions about it. But that is up to y'all.

Due:

Monday, August 18 in Google Classroom

Monday, August 18

Work out harder distance/displacement problems. This is the last page of the packet before graphs, but we need to be on point because these problems will take longer than the ones we've done up until this point.

After today we will have covered everything you need in order to complete all the questions on your homework, due Wednesday.

Complete a worksheet on rearranging equations to get a baseline of where we are at with that. It's a very important skill for this class that I need to know you can master before the class begins properly.
