1.Introduce run-on sentences on pg. 12. 2. Watch video on run on sentences. 
3. Complete workbook p. 12 part A and B together and part C alone. 
4. Review answers to part C.
5. Complete p. 13 together on the Smartboard.

Review capitalization rules and types of sentences.
Test #1 will be Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

This first-week curriculum establishes classroom routines, assesses baseline writing skills, and reviews core grammar foundations to prepare students for the school year. Through a blend of creative icebreakers, textbook exploration, paragraph writing, and hands-on editing practice, students will learn how to navigate their materials and apply essential language mechanics.
Monday: Set up English notebooks/journals, complete the All About Me Pendant, and walk through textbook study and review features.
Tuesday: Finish pendants and write a paragraph about summer.
Wednesday: Review the 8 parts of speech.
Thursday: Introduce proofreader's marks from textbook. Complete workbook pages 1–4.
Friday: Complete workbook pages 5–8, review answers as a class using proofreader's marks, and wrap up the week.
QUIZ #1 will be next Tuesday!
