HW: Write each spelling word and dictation sentence 2 times- Due Thursday
Review class work for a daily grade Friday  (numbers 1through 10 are a review of sounds and codes for the daily grade)   Look over the words we code on morning work to also help prepare for the grade

Friday
1.     The teacher will orally give the Phonics daily grade.  Listen carefully for teacher instructions (Encourage students to use the Focus Wall on their test to help with sounds and codes)

Spelling and dictation test- given orally
Thursday Lesson 16
1.     Introduce consonant /Ff/ - Picture clue fish
2.    Model how to write the capitol and lower case /Ff/
3.    Review all sounds, picture clues,  and codes learned to date from the Focus Wall
4.    Practice spelling and reading words with letters learned
5.    Work the Lesson 16 worksheet with the teacher on the smart board with-Practice coding words on the smart board with /Ff/ and sounds learned to date
6.    Read reader 2 Plan and Toss with the teacher
7.    The teacher will orally give the Spelling and Dictation  tests.  
HW: read reader 2 Plan and Toss to a parent, get signed and return tomorrow

Wednesday Lesson 14
1. Introduce Letter consonant /Dd/ -picture clue dog
2. Model how to write the capital and lower case Dd
3. Complete worksheet 14 and work and check together on smart board with Reading and spelling with consonant Dd.
On the sheet review all letters, sounds, and codes learned to date
HW: Continue working on spelling homework that’s due Thursday
Study spelling words and sentences for a test tomorrow

Tuesday- Lesson 13
1.     Introduce Lesson 13 blends by having students color the two circles at the bottom on their lesson 13 worksheet.  Color one circle blue and the other yellow.
2.    Talk about the part of the circles that cross has blended colors. It blends to green.  Two colors come together to make a new color like two sounds coming together.
3.    On the smart board go over Blends using pl, sl, sn, sp, spl, st, etc…
4.    Project lesson 13 worksheet on smart board and work together
5.    GO over phonics reader 1 –“Pop It, Toss It”  Read together in class. Pointing out words with blends on each page.
 
HW: Write spelling words and dictation sentences two times neatly.  Due by Thursday.  Spelling and dictation test on Thursday. Go over Phonics classwork (codes and sounds) for a daily grade on Friday

Lesson 12- /s/ as a suffix
Go over new selling words:  tap, nap, tip, at, lip, pat, mat, an

Introduce root word and suffix s- code by boxing the s
Read, spell, and code words with -s as a suffix
Review sounds and codes from the focus wall
HW: write each spelling word and dictation sentence 2 times each. Due by Thursday for the test on Thursday
Go over phonics classwork each day to prepare for  grade on Friday

Friday- Lesson 11

Orally give Phonics daily grade- Have students self check using the focus wall

 Introduce Lesson 11                                                                                                                                                                                                                 the two sounds for /s/- soft /s/- picture clue sun and voiced /s/ picture clue rose- code with a voiced line "stinger"  

2.   
Discuss the two sounds for /s/ and the code.

3.   
Add the picture clues sun and rose to the Focus wall

 Introduce Lesson 8 vowel a   (short a is coded with a breve- picture clue apple.  Long /a/ is coded with a macron- picture clue -acorn

2.   
Discuss the two sounds for /a/ and the codes.

Add the picture clues acorn and apple to the Focus wall

Tuesday- Lesson 7

Model and Practice writing words and sentences  together on their homework page.  Start together and finish for homework
